Welcome to the Coll View Croft Site.
I’m Rhoda, and my family has worked on this land down through the generations, and I am delighted you chose to come and camp here.
Coll View is the house you passed up the road with the red telephone box on the end.
Next to the house is a small white out building. On the beach end of the outhouse is a tap. It is fresh mains water and you are very welcome to use it whenever you need it. I suggest checking the tap is off before you remove the hose pipe! It is possible I will forget to switch the tap off and would hate you to be soaked.
I also sell hen and duck eggs, fresh vegetables and salad. Feel free to come to the door, or flag down the bright yellow transit van.
The spot you have chosen has a 3g Vodafone signal. For O2, you need to go back up the hill to the house at the top of the hill. The passing place next to them has an O2 signal, although it is only 2g. There is no other mobile phone provider here.
Follow the fence line in front of the site down towards the shore, and you will see a stile to get onto the beach – it’s a stunner.
ps. The cattle currently on the machair are heifers – nosey, but not dangerous.
