The nights are drawing in…

I’m so bad at remembering to blog… Never mind!

Here is a whistle-stop tour of the last few weeks.

I went to Canna and taught Gaelic. If you ever get a chance, go. It is stunning. I set foot on Rum enroute too.

Then I went to London.

When I got home, I finally finished the painting of the house. In my absence, my Dad who had been animal sitting, had painted the outhouse. Finally, after months of work, the house walls, window sills, doors and gutters have been painted.

In other news – the waller came and fixed some broken walls. Jim Hanson was the waller. I can’t speak highly enough of him.

This week I have been looking after calves, tups and extra dogs. The bonus has been a good workout and beautiful scenery…

And kittens. I’ve been looking in on them. Having to work really hard not to take one home…

The next thing I need to do before winter is sort out the veg garden, lift and clamp the tatties, carrots and parsnips. Then turn, fertilise and cover the ground. It’s not allowed to rain for at least a week…
